1st of May Anti-Nihilism

Koliatsou Sq.

(to M.)
1st OF MAY ANTI-NIHILISM

Regarding first of May holidays,
my mood has altered, my opinion not,
I leave to seasons their mysterious ways,
cause I don’t think they’re worth even a thought.

Whether I want or not to celebrate,
somethings are not within my own free will,
although I never have believed in fate,
I brought my fate’s total sum to nil.

I’m far away from love and its disasters,
I love my mother still, at any rate,
Keeping a basic thought of Zoroaster’s:
Since god was dead there never was a fate.

Today the waitress wished me “Happy Day”,
she asked if I intend to go to town,
unwilling to confess, I said, “I may”,
already she could see my growing frown.

Later on, my wife sent a photo,
the Stranraer boat approaching the Larne bay,
and thus I re-discovered my single moto:
With her I want to spend my every day.
