A Beautiful Day

Walking in the bright sunlight
on the bay shore, sun shimmering
upon the water so bright, I am
listening as the waves softly linger

The sun warming my skin as
lightly, I step onto the sand
Sinking my toes, I feel the cool
dampness, the breeze moves my hair

Slipping across the water -
a schooner gliding softly
Catching the sails the breeze
pushing it to deeper waters

Wings brushing up and down
Sea Gulls swirling overhead-
dipping down to snatch a fish,
singing their daily song

The warm glinting sun-pulling me
further down the beach - the captivating
pleasures of sight and sound
as the waves continue their soft landings

A big, warm hand slips into mine -
entertwining our fingers as I breath
in the wonderful scents of salt water
and Oleanders growing thick along the cliff
Looking up - seeing his smile at my enjoyment.
I think - "What a Beautiful Day"
