  • A light in the darkness

A light in the darkness

When in the throws of bottomless despair
Where demons wail and banshees scream
Look for a light in the dark out there
I’ll come for you, if only as a dream.

There is a goodness in your soul
That will melt even the hardest heart
Driving out the hatred and the cold
Finding the best in every part.

I will always be there beside you
as you wander your way thru this shadowy land
Listen as I quietly and confidently guide you
Holding your heart tenderly in my hand

When you are ready to spread your wings
I will open my hand letting the little bird free
Knowing full well that all things worth holding
Must find their own way to the light that I see

Strange the hold we have on each other
Strange the way life flows
Stranger still the future without you
A future so bleak that I dare not go!
