Agape

A rose dried and stagnant
she hangs her head,
stale ebony petals crumble and fall.
Waterless, she thirsts.
Stilled by nature
she is unable to drink and be revived.
Death awaits her.
It roars in,
disguised inculpable as wind. He. . .
Giver of life,
suffers to encircle her with love.
Death is thwarted.
His tears fall,
she consumes them and is restored.
She blooms unlike before.
His only thanks,
she flourishes with an insatiable thirst.
