the only footprints were deer,
and some sort loon wide like fingers
three spread as though
standing but walking
as evidence from the line
of cousin prints
posing in a strip
with invisible and visible spirit
near the famous stone
so named this day
gray and half naked
almost blackened
by shadow
wanting nothing
if rocks can want
at all
