Dreams of you

I dreamed the other night that I woke with you by my side.
We held each other close and closed our eyes and knew
from that moment it was just you and I.
Alone in that room for no one to see me holding you
and you holding me. In the soft moonlight I could tell
by your smile that I had made your dreams come true
for just a little while. That dream of us being together
for now will have to stay in our dreams for just awhile more.
Because it's so true that when I hold you the whole world
seems to stop for just me an you. It's in that moment of you
with me that all I can tell you is how much I love thee.
It's from within the deeps of that love that I can tell you
someday we will be together as one. But for now the best
I can do is hold you in my dreams and show you how much
I love you.
