Errant Soliloquy

i slipped and fell so deep into your eyes
and revelled in the tempest of their depths
  enraptured by you, i soliloquised
and scarcely noticed all the tears i wept

O, tears of joy! your faded countenance
epitome of all i once desired
i watch you move and tiny shadows dance
rekindling the ash of passion's fire

desirous of touch, with fingers bold
i reassure myself your flesh is real
staying chaste may seem so very cold
but i don't want to change the way we feel

tonight i'll wish upon the brightest star
that i can have you just the way you are
