Freak Show

You ogle and stare
Maybe feel faint 'cause you dared
To enter our space
And go about treating it like
Your own personal
Freak show.
You gawk and gape
Every spank and shudder or bind of tape
Draws your eyes
And makes your fingers twitch
To create a camera caught
Snapshot.
Without a care for the fair
Its requests or its guests
A picture is worth more
Than their dignity
Or respect.
Your law protected rights
We can't deny or pretend
They don't exist for our
Mere
Convenience...
You willfully endanger
Countless folks, good-timing strangers
By choosing not to ask
A simple
Question.
Is as if we're on display
An exhibit,
Exotic.
You act like we are
Entertainment.
Dressed up to give you
Nothing other than a great show
Of just how unique
And individual
Each of us can be.
Newsflash,
Read all about it.
Consent is a basic courtesy
Preferably the norm.
And most certainly
We are not
Your personal
Freak show.
