Heavy? Go on a Diet!

You were persistent.
I had my resolve.
You knocked on my portal.
I kept it locked tight.

“Let me in.”
You softly whispered.
I covered my ears and
Prayed you’d go away.

Tap, tap, tap,
I thought you left.
“I’m still here.
Won’t you let me in?”

Little by little, the
Door creaked opened.
Through the cracks,
You slid in.

Seated at my table,
You feasted upon emotions.
It should have been a clue,
You left the door ajar.

Swept away in lover’s bliss,
I gave you extra servings.
Greedily, you gorged, with
No concern of tomorrow.

“Do I get dessert?”
You asked, with an irksome smile.
So willing and wanting,
I dug deep to give you more.

Divinity Entwined,
A secret recipe of my own creation.
Opportunity of descent,
You left without a word.

Like a summer breeze,
The entrée was short and sweet.
It should have been a clue,
You left the door ajar.
