I saw you today...
such 'simple' words -
yet they carry and embody
all there IS.

I saw YOU today...
what came to mind
wasn't 'pretty' - though you are...
was 'cute'- and then you smiled
and I couldn't smile anymore.

You WERE well hidden within
til that single moment
let you out to my world -
a Pandora's memory
forever now open.

I couldn't continue -
nor turn away,
yet couldn't stay.
There was no dreaming,
or wishing,
or even thinking -
just a moment unending...
held in your smile,
caught in your eyes.
Touched and touching,
a still-life snapshot
of all the yesterdays you lived,
all the tomorrows you can't see...
your life's time -
all in my eyes.
