I want to sleep,
To dream,
To be far away from this world that closes it’s cold unforgiving fingers around my neck;
Stealing the air from my quiet lips
Suffocating under the still surface
People as automatic as machines don’t even bother to glance or second-guess my sentence
Taking away my voice, my dignity, any hope of defending my case
The judge rules out innocent;
Deaf to ALL pleas
Electronic signals pass through the neurons in my brain; clouding thoughts
I don’t understand such injustice,
How can I?
This world, this life, this imaginative reality
It makes no sense!
The lingering stench of death fills the emptiness inside of me
As the injected poison races through every vein
