Waiting for the validation
Or a confirmation
That might never come
The error in my part
In choosing to suspend,
Ignore and completely give in
There was no protection
Just affection that
Laid me bare.
A misplaced,
Unearned trust
Lying abandoned in between
Or perhaps never taken
But I assumed it was wanted.
I sit here waiting
For any sign
That I was more than just a whim
And it feels like betrayal.
