Love's Vengeance

As I lay dying I swear vengeance and to return
Sprawled on the ground cold frightened and alone
Watching as everything I love is taken and burned
The face of my love is etched in my mind as he screamed
The blade that took his head lies at my knees
His blood mingled with mine, a final sacrament

I feel my body grow colder as I watch them plunder
everything my love worked so hard for cast asunder
smoke fills the sky as my tears fall across my face
The storm crows call, not for rain but for me
I am the storm that will rise, my anger set free

My wrath will bring judgment crashing down
Weaving destruction wielding my rage as a mighty ax
I vow this day to strike them, bring them down to their knees
Listen to them beg, laugh at their tearful futile pleas
And at the moment I strike hard and true
I will give them an image of the slaughter of me and you

They will drown in the sorrow of what they have done
Reap now dark cold hearts of the hell you have sown
I will stand above them with a satisfied smile
Thinking of all that you dared to invade and defile
I will drink deep of your life’s blood as it spews
From open veins, open wounds it will flow
And when your eyes see the final light you will know

You will know it was I who repaid you blood for blood
It was I that did right the wrong done this night
And as your soul flies forth into oblivion’s embrace
You will see and always remember my vengeful face
