Matters of the Heart

Authors Note: So I haven’t written a poem in like 15 years. I have no idea what I’m doing on this but I was... am... forever will be going through some matters of the heart. Think you will be able to figure it out in the poem. Anyway, feelings to words and all that. I pray that maybe someone going through the same out there will take some small comfort in these words that you are not alone in going through this.

I think of you everyday.
I suppose it’s the price of my sin that I have to pay.
You are my soulmate.
But we are denied by fate.
Everyday, I fight my tears, put on a mask that’s a smile.
I lie to my family, tell myself it’s just for a little while.
You completed me in every way.
To that, there’s not much more to say.

I gave you a piece of my heart.
A final gift before I had to depart.
They say time heals all wounds.
To that I reply my pain has only just bloomed.

If life were fair and just, I would hold you in my arms forever.
Instead of in my thoughts, deep in the range of never.
We went our separate paths and that cannot change.
I laugh, if only I had a Delorian with unlimited range.

My heart will always call to you.
To the day I die, you will always have that due.
I must stop now, for this has gone on for too long.
The tears will start up again when I hear that one song.

-End

....I miss and love you Karem... forever until the day I die.
