No happily ever after

You called me Your princess,
It was a fairy tale you see,
Only the happy ever after
Wasn’t meant to be.
The look I had once in my eyes,
Shown bright as the stars above.
Now they weep of tears from your lies
And they are empty of love
So I am bowing my head in defeat,
Knowing the betrayal from you,
Is something my heart can’t repeat.
If I had only known the love, I had.
This wasn’t meant to stay,
I would have never given it away.
You tell you will remember the good times,
But we both know that is just more lies.
Just as all fairy tale ends.
It will be the betrayal, I will not forget
But it will be my heart than will mend.
