Past Loves

Alas we ended.
It was meant to be of course,
Sadness still engulfs.

The tears still linger
Of the precious moments shared.
Smiles, joy and laughter.

The kisses we gave,
The slow dances we enjoyed
Our time, Our moments.

Just a dalliance
In the grand scheme of things yet,
Engraved in our thoughts

A memory tugs
That brings me back to our time
A brief reflection

Of all the good times,
And I smile… once in a while.
And laughter lingers…

A new beginning
Beckons… to starting afresh
Tis right to move on.

The stars are aligned
Boldly the new is written.
The future awaits.

A new dance and kiss
Embrace this new adventure
The past is now done.

But remember it,
With fondness and affection
For it made me…ME.
