Quiet Waters

Quiet falls like silent water over me.
i feel Your displeasure, but
do not understand why You are displeased.
Silently, i kneel to the side.
The laughter that had spilled from me,
absent for so long, once again gone.
i watch as the play that i initiated
moves forward without me, not
because I can not play; but
because the desire has left me.
As You speak, i feel shame that
You would believe that i would ignore
that of which You ask.
my heart burns with sorrow that
You chose to ignore my smile and greeting
when You entered the room i was
so happy to see You step into.
Yes, i have much to learn.
That i have never denied and
if i have deceived You in my lack of knowledge,
i can only say
i am sorry.
