Regret

Regret
by - Darmasana

When will it be in some dark of night in starlight
A comet fires in awesome wonder
That which stirs my soul.

A soul once sleeping in calm repose
Innocent of injustices yet to behold
Awakened by a heart rended; torn
To heal and sooth a spirit worn.

Some claim these are but sentiments
Other, a weakness to be born.
Yet these tears are as acid
In the wounds of so little time
Of which can not be renewed.

Tis folly to think on such as these?
When all about lay with dis-ease.
Lament I so my innocence
Never to know a recompense.
To die in deep regret
My star that fell to earth
and burned the soul of she
who bears us.
