Remembrances

Fallen and still clinging to hope
of the long forgotten memories.
Large dark brown-eyed recollections.
I see all of them jumbled together in the mix
His face here and his laugh there

Short, and quick tempered or tall and easy-going
An athlete, musician, philosopher, accountant
A brother, a father, a boy, a man
I have known them all at some point.

Bill, Nathan, Andrew, Tom, the list goes on
Each an individual, each a part of me
Each no longer in my life.

I hang on to the remembrances.
It sometimes hurt like hell.

It somehow gets me through.
