Star-crossed lovers
By fate & by time
Their realities have now
Become intertwined

Patient they wait
Playing their parts
Seeing the truth
Inside of their hearts

Time is their friend
As they do it 'right'
Their friend until
That one fateful night

A tad more than buzzed
He knew what to do
Hands on the wheel
At ten & at two

An unknown unknown
Chaos & fear
The result was the loss
Of the one she held dear

The massive and gaping
Hole in her heart
Was one she had hoped to avoid
From the start

He haunted her dreams
By night & by day
But as hard as she tried
She could not will him away

She wished she had told him
Or asked him at least
If you've been drinking
Love, give up the keys.
