I noticed her
Peered at her ankle
She had a strap to latch
It took some time to hook and lance
The narrow leather hole
To its mate, the pin prick
Unfolding her legs, feet flat on the floor
She saw my untied lace lying
Like a slug
I remember her bare arms
Her never looking over them
Leaving the train, leaving this poem
