Story to tell

Some stories are meant to be told
Or so I've been told
By so many prophets
Young, old, indifferent
But never far removed
From the situations, traumatic circumstances
That swirl through the laughter and
Shoot through the darkness
Of our unsure minds

Morals, lessons, proverbs and wives tales
Spinning, twisting, melding with sincere fabrications
That make up this life
Stories always different,
Depending on who does the telling
Whose glasses you are wearing
What hue you choose to see through
What mirror you resolve to peer into

This semi-dream of real life
Never quite as clear as I want it to be
A hint and glimpse into easier truths
But still, the chronic desire
To learn some lessons the hard way
Feel it more completely
Act within it more uniquely
Left with stories to tell

Stories to hear
Tales to hold dear
Take a piece of the significance
Carry it with me
Help to ease the indifference
Slow my never ending questioning
Match the pace of a life
I create and leave
With stories to tell
