The 4 Seasons

spring

S oft she sings her hatchling song
P laintive first bird of spring
R ejoices at prisms of water returning to itself,
I ce flows
N ow greening the thirst of new roots
G rowing radiant the bloom of rainbows in the sky of earth

Summer

S ky sags, bleached light
U nder the weight of the
M addening shimmer, whitehot
M urmur of
E ndless sun’s infernal
R ays

Autumn

A fter the fire the glow
U nbending green flows into fawn
T rees touch the sky with bony fingers
U nravel clouds to show the mellow
M oon languishing in cool purple
N ight

Winter

W arm is what we’ll do
I ce inches its interesting
N ips of chill near
T he timbers of my tall tree
E ver so empty will the evenings be
R oasting chestnuts alone by my roaring fire
