The Conquest

Was it the loss of innocence or the knowledge of what lay beyond the threshold that sought to ripple the pool of tranquility? The stage has been set for a play to unfold, like a blank canvas receiving the first touch of inspiration. There had once been security in the lack of knowledge, this has since disappeared forever changing the path which lay ahead. No choice will ever be the same. These doors which opened had once separated the darkness from the light and can never be barred again. Forcing one to challenge the beast from within in a never-ending saga that is life itself. A battle raging since the beginning of time. A battle that can never be won, but only lost. Ever to force the hands of fate, never to succumb, testing the temper of the sword that one is to wield. This leaves one to ponder, am I truly the victor or the conquered in the conquest of life.
