The Heart

The heart is a funny thing, it follows a logic all its own and can endure.
Oft times, there is no pattern, nor any logic to the things it does. If you try to control it, you will lose it.

What the heart wants is not always good for it. What is good for the heart is not always what it wants.
For the heart will bend to it’s own whims and not to anyone else’s.

Yet in the midst of this apparent chaos, the heart has remained true to its purpose. For the heart has but one goal, to find another heart to love and be loved by.

Elegant in its simplicity of theory yet intricately complicated in practice is the heart’s one purpose. So many things to consider, the possible wrong turns are numerous.

What do you do when you love someone you shouldn’t? What do you do when all sense and reason tells you that you shouldn’t feel the way that you do?

Do you run the other way? Do you blame the object of your affection? Do you convince yourself that your feelings are wrong? Do you shame yourself to crush those feelings?

If you have the opportunity to love someone who loves you, should you walk away? If others would not approve the one you love, should you still pursue them?

Where do you strike the balance between what is best for the heart and what the heart wants? What are you willing to risk in the hopes to make love work?
