I had long since given up
My heart could take no more
The pain of being lonely
Had been knocking down my door

I built a wall around me
Of stone so hard and cold
No one could reach inside of me
And there I would grow old

My world had become lifeless
No love could come find me
My wall of stone stood so high
And that was all I’d see

Then one day your words seeped through
And my heart couldn’t help but hear
They reminded me of what its like
To hold something so dear

So now this wall of stone
Begins to crumble at my feet
I face the loneliness again
Though one day it will be beat

So now I must say thank you friend
Though I’m sure you could not know
How much your words have done for me
To make me fight this low

New hope has come in my world
That was not there before
So now I’m ready to try again
And let my heart just soar
