Word with two meanings

The country or the name
The country is part of me, half of me
I've only been there once though
I was less than three
I can only remember the heat and the colours
Exotic, humid, mangos, and gold
If you ask me what it's like
That's all you'll be told.

But the name?
The name belongs to someone
Someone tall, strong and elegant
Someone with eyes of turquoise and chestnut hair
Someone beautiful and intelligent
Someone I'd trust with my life.

Why is it that I resent the country but embrace the name?
The country where my grandfather met his wife
But the name I don't even own
Why is it that when you say the word,
I think of her, not my home?
But the country or the name?
My answer stays the same.
