And so their nights became a fulfillment of the love they were finding of their relationship. But it came to an end two days later when Phil returned from his business trip and resumed his position in the marital bed. Monica and Vanessa were reduced to furtive kisses and sly touches around the house. Monica still had sex with Phil and contrary to what she feared, still enjoyed and even relished their lovemaking at night. But she also longed to be able to hold her naked daughter again, to taste her and fulfill all of her desires.

A week later, they were all surprised when they got a phone call from Megan. She'd found a job back home and would be returning in a fortnight. Everyone was thrilled and the mood around the house was festive as the day of Megan's arrival approached.
