Adam hissed and moaned as he tilted his head back, with the crazy vibrating driving his member up the wall. "Well, she didn't. I remember a woman in a flowing white dress walking outside. You were still asleep, and I heard her singing in the night. I thought she was just some random stranger, so I ran out to talk to her."

"... Wait, if she was a mermaid, she couldn't have been walking. Remember, merfolk don't know how to walk on their own, we'd need someone to teach us."

"I distinctly remember seeing feet touching the grass," Adam said, "And she was singing. Just slowly strolling by the house, and singing long hymns. I went outside to see if she was here for any particular reason, and I followed her over to the reef. Next thing I knew, she fell into the water. I ran after her, and dove in..." Adam furrowed his brow as he thought for a moment, "After that... It's kinda blurry, but I remember seeing a white mermaid."

Merrick starred at Adam in the darkness of the room, "A-A-A white... Mermaid? A-Are you sure?"

"Yeah. She had a long body, like most of her was glimmering white veils. I remember that while she was talking to me, I couldn't move... I can't really remember most of what she said... Except the last part:

" 'Seek out Atarah. The Forbidden Ancient'..." He said, "The next night, she came back, again, in human form. I think she came to check up on you. And I told her you were alive, that Atarah was able to save you. I even asked her who she was, but she didn't say. She just sort of... Laughed at me, and went back into the sea... She said she made a dress to wear for me, and I was naked the whole time." Adam said, blushing and chuckling.

"... That..." Merrick said. Adam looked, and saw Merrick seemed to look nervous, "That was my Mother..."

Adam's stomach purged at what he just said, "That... That woman... That mermaid was your... Mother?!" He said, his senses full of shock.

"Yes... That was my Mother, Noita Umiato..."

"Merrick... Are you sure? Are you absolutely sure???"

"Adam, there are only two white mermaids in my pod: my Mother and my Sister, and my Sister has never met Atarah in her life."

"So... How does your mom know Atarah?"

"She and I went to visit her one time," Merrick said, "I was afraid of her because she's human, but I got over it soon after seeing how much my Mother was so calm with her," He looked up at Adam again, "What else did you tell her? Or what else did my Mother say?"

"Um..." Adam hesitated, "I told her... That humans aren't all bad, and she said she knew about that. And I asked her to tell your pod that you're not with me, but recovering with Atarah, and she said she trusted me with your care..."

"Really? She said that?" Merrick asked as he looked in wonder, "I know she's graceful and understanding, but trusting a human... I didn't think she would be so inclined to believe the word of a human... Wow~" Merrick said with a smile.

"Y-Yeah..." Adam said, "A-Anyway, I'm tired... We should get some sleep."

"Hehe, ok~" Merrick said as Adam shifted around, and Merrick spooned up behind him.

Adam breathed deeply as he thought over this new fact. His stomach churned with fear and minor guilt, his mind playing back when he talked with... Noita Umiato... God, what she must think of him...

"Who are you to him? Why would you take a chance of being exiled?"

The woman stayed silent for a moment, and then turned her head for a moment, "And who are you? To go to such lengths to save a creature who is not even of your own species?"

"Well..." Adam blushed, "He's my boyfriend... Or, lover, mate, whatever merfolk call it."

For the second time, ever, the mysterious woman turned around to face him, her silver eyes looking at him with a look of surprise on her face, "What? What did you say?"

"Yeah..." Adam said as he felt a hot tingle on his cheeks, "He said something about a Lunar Eclipse," The woman gave a brief look of confusion, "Er, that's a red moon - humans call it a Lunar Eclipse. He said that he fell in love with me on his 3rd red moon? And that I fell in love with him without even knowing it..."

"You are... His mate?" The woman said.

"Yeah. For about 5 years now. He tried to break up with me about 2 weeks ago... It broke my heart as well as his, but he says it's inevitable..." Adam looked aside as he put his hand on his arm, "It devastated me when he tried to end it with us, when he tried to leave me behind, but... I... I still love him, after all that's happened... And he loves me too..."

"... I see..." The woman turned back around, and looked to the ocean.

"B-But listen! Please don't tell his pod - Especially his mom and dad. His pod is precious to him... It'll tear him apart if he's banished. Just... Please tell them that he's safe and he's just recovering with Atarah in her river, and that he'll be back soon... Please? I don't want him to lose his pod so soon..." He shook his head, "I can't even stand the thought of him crying again..."

"... Very well. He will rest here, for the time being," The woman said softly, "I trust he is safe in your care..."

"Yes, he is. He's always safe with me." The woman nodded, and took a step off the cliff, "Wait! You haven't told me who YOU are! And how did you know about Atarah?" The woman paused, and she chuckled with a smile.

"Amusing... Humans are so clueless, are they not?"

'Is THAT what she meant??' Adam thought as his heart pounded, 'Of COURSE she would risk being banished by talking to me - she's his MOM! The Noita of his pod... If she wanted to, she could've ended me right there...' Adam let in a silent gasp as he suddenly remembered that other mermaid, the white frilly one on the rock by the beach when he went outside after he sang to Merrick, when he was still infected with the oil... Merrick said there are only two white mermaids in his pod... Was that his sister?!

Adam quivered as he felt Merrick's arm tuck under his own, and held him close, "Adam? Are you all right? You're shaking."

"Y-Yes, I'm fine, Merrick," Adam said, "I-I'm just cold, that's all..."

"Oh, ok," Merrick then took the covers, and pulled them up over his and Adam's shoulders. Adam gulped as his lover snuggled behind him. These thoughts made him tremble as he closed his eyes, and tried to sleep.

"Mmmm... Hm?" Merrick stirred awake. It's still dark outside, and the moonlight is pouring though Adam's window. In a second, he realized his shell is vibrating and glowing. He groaned and sighed as he scooted way, moved his legs over the bed, and sat there, "Right... We were supposed to be gone by now..." He muttered. Merrick groaned as he bent over, and pulled the box from underneath the bed, where his sea equipment have been stored, as usual - except for his trident, he seems to have lost it when he got caught in the blood of the earth. Hopefully, his pod was able to track it down for him.

Merrick secured the shell-kelp headband on around his head for last, and walked around the bed, and knelt down to his sleeping mate.

"Goodbye, Adam," Merrick whispered as he stroked along Adam's hair, "I'll return within 6 moons..." He gently nuzzled Adam in his slumber and kissed his lips softly, "I love you..." Merrick stood up, and walked out of his room.

As he reached the back glass door, he felt a soft, furry rub between his legs, "Raarrrr~" He looked down, and chuckled as he saw the blondie-orange, semi fluffy cat looking up at him, and reached up to his leg, stretching as he pawed at his shin.

"Oh hi..." He muttered quietly as he crouched down, and ran his hand through the feline's fur, "... Roxas, right?" The cat purred as he nuzzled into Merrick's palm. The merman cleared his throat, and sounded a purr-growl noise from his vocal cords. Roxas mewled as he Merrick stroked the cat's back, and along his tail. He giggled as the cat then started swatting and batting at Merrick's flashing shell.

Soon, Merrick is walking to the cliff of the reef, facing the sea, while still feeling the vibration of the shell slice on his chest. He looked back at the strange, unique home of his human. He smiled happily, glad to know he has a new Sea Spot to return.

The Adra turned back around, and dove into the ocean.
