"We have the night shift on the floor. We'll walk you back downstairs so you can get some rest."

"You don-" she started to refuse.

Jack just lifted a brow at her. Tessa paused then nodded.

"Thank you."

"Come along, new girl. Caleb needs to get in a few more flirts before he can get back to work."

"Hey!" Caleb glared at Jack but broke into a smile soon enough.

Tessa smiled along and listened to the two men banter between Caleb hitting on every female worker they passed on the way down. She waved them goodbye at her door. Turning, she waved a greeting to the two women sharing the room with her but did not introduce herself. They nodded back and that was it. She fell asleep to a list of things she'd share with Darrien and just a flicker of the humor in Jack's eyes.
