This Morning

As I sat in the recliner, suddenly tired from the morning, I looked out the window, and watched the clouds, watched the cars go by in the hustle and bustle of that sunny spring morning. I closed my eyes, and sighed, suddenly feeling a sharp pain. Then, it seemed to me as if the world shifted, like a weight lifted from my shoulders, and from my heart as I heard your voice call to me from the bedroom. Smiling, and with a leap of joy in my soul, I arose from the chair to make love to you, to see the gleam in your eyes and the grin on your face. No more gray hair, no more wrinkles, no more pain, no more missing you. To make love to you in our home forever.
