After a brief investigation, Cindy was proven innocent by self-defense; there wasn't even a trial. She was now a national celebrity, battered women's groups paid her money to give speeches, she did national talk shows, and was on the cover of every magazine from Time to the Enquirer. She got offered roles for television and movies, she was now a big name, and although this wasn't how she wanted to make a name for herself, took advantage of it, knowing it could go away tomorrow. Brandon and Cindy both were doing well now, but they rarely saw each other, decided on an amicable breakup, and are still friends to this day. Cindy bought a huge house in Hollywood, bringing her mother with her, she needed someone she could trust, and who better than her mom.

Cindy Brown was now a happy girl again after a real rough period, persevering over the evil that life can throw at you, and was a better person for it.
