The Hunters and the Hunted Ch. 06

Angelo learned control, too. Mainly his eyes, heightened senses and cock, although he had a fairly good running start on his extended and more muscular tongue. Willfully being able to switch from human to wolf cock seemed especially pleasing to Trudy and Skye, and Skye made sure he had plenty of practice. Learning to take Viktor up his ass without being cranked through the ceiling or having Trudy's milk was more difficult, but Viktor complimented him on his progress after he'd cum in Angelo's ass a couple of times. And Trudy rewarded him with enough of her milk to damn near knock him out.

Angelo and Skye declined trying to push their limits much farther, pointing out that they needed to be functional over the next couple of days while they got their affairs in order. They were lying sprawled out in the den when Skye brought up a question that had been bothering her.

"Viktor, are we your first set of pets? You know, live in? You indicated other clan members had hooked up with humans and not just for breeding. But you never said anything about you. Only that you felt very lucky to have found two Folaigh at the same time."

"Actually, no," he answered truthfully. "I have had three extended human relationships in the past and Trudy has had two... we shared our last two pairs. It was some time ago, and they were only Haustiere."

"What happened to them?" Skye asked. "They had to be mortal. Did you just dump them when they got old?"

"They didn't get old, per se," he told her and smiled slightly at her confused look.

"First off, there's a difference between a human Haustiere and a Folaigh," he went on. "The humans live a normal lifespan, although the effects of a Were bitch's milk means they don't get sick or particularly weakened with advanced age. They continue as if they were aging at about half normal rate and they tend to live to their maximum normal life expectancy. Our last pair, about seventy-five years ago, were James and Susan and they lived into their early nineties while keeping the bodies of humans in their mid-forties. They died within about three months of each other."

"Folaigh are different. They age at about one-fourth the normal rate and can live two to three times a normal human life expectancy. The effect of the Were bitch's milk brings out a lot of the genetic Were qualities, including immunity to disease, rapid healing from injury and even resurrection."

"Resurrection?" Angelo iterated in stunned surprise.

"Resurrection in the sense that the Were can sustain severe enough systemic trauma to cause what appears to be death... all vital bodily functions shut down, no pulse, no respiration, even no brain activity... and then after some period of time, the body 'restarts' as it were. It comes back to life and the Were's consciousness, which never actually left it, resumes control. You and Skye are in this latter category. Which is one reason why I am delighted that Skye is interested in whelping pups. I suspect she will make very powerful, very intelligent Weres."

"The odd thing is, if you and she have babies, you have a fairly good chance of your genetics combining to produce a Were as well. Certainly, your offspring would be a strong Folaigh, and would be welcomed into the Clan with open arms. It is Nature's crapshoot, but it is possible."

"And even more interesting... you, Angelo, might be able to get Trudy pregnant. It is a very, very rare thing. Most female Weres can only bear pups in their full wolf form, being bred by a wolf and bearing wolf pups. The chances of a male Folaigh successfully breeding a female Were are infinitesimal, but it can happen. And when it does, the resulting Were pup or pups are considered Blessed by the Goddess and accorded a lot of deference and respect. They usually become leaders somewhere in the pack's authority structure."

"You did not meet her at the Dance," Trudy interjected, "but we have one in our clan. Her name is Derfáil, which means 'the daughter of destiny'. She usually lives with Höllen and travels with her. I don't know why she wasn't at the Full. You'll probably meet her some day."

"I think that would be cool," Skye put in.

"There is a lot to go over," Viktor resumed. "Hell, even we are learning. Folaigh are rare and I'll admit, I paid about as much attention to them as I've paid to unicorns. That is to say, virtually none. But Trudy and I have been given our homework and some of it will be passed on to you."

"In my 'normal' life, I'm CEO of Canis Dynamics, a holding company with its fingers in a lot of pies. Trudy is on the Board. My secretary, a wonderfully sexy human with whom I'm having a clandestine affair - according to office gossip - is already loaded down with everything I need her to do for the business."

Viktor paused for a moment and looked at Skye.

"I could use a Personal Assistant and Librarian to help me get this house in order. I can offer you the job, Skye, at a decent salary and one of your orders of business would be to help pull together everything we have on Folaigh and their place in the Clan. Interested?"

"Absolutely," Skye assured him, then paused. "Um... these books are written in English, right?" It had occurred to her that English wasn't a given, seeing as how the Clan was thousands of years old.

"I can teach you enough Gaelic, French and German to give you a running start," Trudy offered. "And I can work with you, translating or sorting out the ones that are too difficult."

"Then I guess I'm up for it," Skye decided.

"This is as good a time as any to point out that a week from this Sunday, I have a three-day trip to Chicago I have to do," Angelo pointed out. "I've already got tickets out of Bradley International. I don't know what the drive time will be, so I'll have to leave out way early Sunday morning."

"Not necessarily," Viktor smiled. "We'll use the Corporate chopper."

"What?" Angelo asked, confused. "I thought I heard you say 'chopper'..."

"I did," Viktor smiled. "We have a corporate helicopter and I can have it pick you up here and take you to Bradley, then pick you up when you get back and bring you back. Saves time and driving."

Angelo sat back. "You know, there's a whole lot of 'getting used to' that's going to have to go on around here," he observed. "I'm guessing life is never going to be quite the same."

"Amen to that, Brother," Viktor told him.

"Amen to that," Trudy and Skye echoed.
